What is sponsorship?

What is sponsorship and who is served?

We have a new familysponsorship program in Rwanda and Childsponsorship programs in Burundi, Cambodia, Guatemala and Uganda.
In both cases, our sponsorship programs are for the benefit of children, but also their families and their communities.
These programs are managed by professionals in different countries. The sponsored children receive educational support (school supplies, clothing) and access to extra-curricular activities (camps, etc.), but also medical care (exams and treatments). The family is also helped, along with other children in the program, even if they are not yet sponsored. The program helps families augment their income, for example by raising goats. For the community, the program can provide training in hygiene and health, and equip classrooms with teaching materials.

The amount of sponsorship is 50 CHF (35 Euros) per month, or 600 CHF (420 Euros) per year.

Changes in our sponsorship program
   in Rwanda and Uganda

For several years the program of children’s sponsorship was an integral part of development strategies advocated and implemented by FH in many communities, especially in Rwanda and Uganda. This praiseworthy initiative was possible because of your commitment and your constant support alongside FH team.
However, the objectives of this program showed disadvantages in their application. To minimize costs and for a better capitalization of human resources, it seemed to us more appropriate to join a new type of sponsoring.
Based on this financial organization, support of the community will have more significant impact. This program is identical to the one you have contributed to, only funding arrangements are different.
We encourage you to continue this fight against hunger by our side by actively participating in this new phase of our work, by supporting CHF 50 per month for Kibiniko and Kirwa families and children.
