* The Center for Child Development in Mbale: Today the school complex accomodates more than 900 children. 45 of them are part of the fhsuisse program for disadvantaged children. These children are supported by Swiss godmothers and godfathers. Parents are also supported and attend literacy classes and gardening. The center also includes a maternal care health clinic. This allows pregnant women to give birth in good conditions with the assistance of qualified personnel.
* The mother-child center "New Life" in Kitgum: The objective of this center is to help young mothers who have been abducted into the rebel LRA army and "given" as wives to the rebel soldiers. Women who manage to leave the LRA have an immense need of rehabilitation. The center helps them realise not only physical health, but also moral and spiritual renewal. After the time spent in the rehabilitation center, we are also helping women to start businesses in their villages, in collaboration with a local institution of micro-finance.
