Health and educational development of children in Rwanda
Child Development Program
Schools in Gikomero supported by FH host more than 750 students. 115 among them are of poor families and are part of the development program for children. These children are sponsored by godmothers and godfathers of Switzerland, through fhsuisse. On the other hand, the entire community benefits from the programme by the rehabilitation of schools as well as support programmes for community development initiatives and capacity building.
Since 2006, a medical clinic is functional at Gikomero in Rwanda. The clinic can achieve the following objectives:
* Increase access to quality health services
* Increase the quality of the health of infants and mothers by providing prenatal services to women during pregnancy and after birth
* To contribute to the overall improvement of the nutritional and health situation of the community.
We are currently looking to expand the center to make it compatible with the standards of the Ministry of Health to be eligible for partnership with the Mutual Health of the State department.
